Walking on empty…

This weekend, Mum completed her nine mile training run and I ..well…I only did five miles for my Saturday run although on Friday I clocked up nine miles doing a three mile run first thing and six miles in the afternoon.   I was feeling a bit under the weather over the weekend so took an ‘active’ rest day on Sunday and did some light hillwalking!

It was a beautiful day and we got up early and had toast and coffee before heading to Stirling to climb Dumyat.

We have a new camera so the walk took a lot longer than expected because we kept stopping to take pictures so by the time we got to the top it was well passed lunchtime and I was desperate for something to eat!  Luckily I had a Clif Bar (I was recently sent a taster package to try and review) with me in my backpack which was the perfect energy boost before heading back down.

For me Clif Bars are perfect- they give me a good energy boost which is great between meals when I am exercising. They are also very tasty – the peanut crunch tastes like the inside of a Snicker bar!

Meanwhile, my mum managed to stick to the training plan and get all her miles in AND ate lots of ‘nutrient dense’ food which she sent me plenty of photos of – she particularly likes to follow the “Eat to Live” plant based diet.
